A new ‘Alumni Watch’ check in on @mercyhurstho A new ‘Alumni Watch’ check in on @mercyhursthockey forward, Dante Sheriff!

Sheriff joined the Bombers for the 2016-17 season and had a strong showing in his first junior season as a 17-year-old.

Sheriff lead the Bombers in scoring with 44 points which earned him a spot in the GOJHL Top Prospects game!

One of the biggest highlights for Sheriff was the hat-trick he recorded against the Guelph Hurricanes in January of 2017.

Sheriff would graduate from the Bombers and move onto the USHL the following year before he found a spot in the NAHL with the Austin Bruins where he would amass 158 points in 141 career games, which is atop the Bruins all-time scoring ranks.

Sheriff would win multiple awards in his NAHL career including NAHL Central Forward of the Year, NAHL Central MVP and All NAHL Team in 2019-20.

Sheriff has since joined the NCAA Division I Mercyhurst Lakers making him the first Bombers alumni to play in the NCAA’s highest division!

Congratulations Dante on all of your accomplishments and best of luck at Mercyhurst!

We checked in on former Bomber Reid Jackman to see We checked in on former Bomber Reid Jackman to see what life in hockey has done for him since his departure from the Bombers!

Jackman was a fifth-round selection of the Peterborough Petes in the 2009 OHL Draft and prior to joining the Bombers he suited up for the @lindsay_muskies and Orangeville Flyers of the @ojhlofficial.

Jackman landed a spot with the Bombers in the 2012-13 season where he record 22 points in 23 games. The following season he would score 12 goals and add 19 assists for 31 points in 48 games. In nine playoff games in the maroon and gold he tallied six points.

Jackman’s efforts then landed him a spot on the York University Men’s Hockey Team where he played for five years from 2014-2019. In that time with the @yorkulionsmhky he recorded 70 points in 131 games. In postseason action with the Lions he tallied 11 points in 19 games.

Since leaving school, Jackman has found himself in the @echlhockey where he has suited up for the Fort Wayne Komets, Newfoundland Grizzlies, Atlanta Gladiators and most recently, the Florida Everblades!

“When I arrived in Brampton I had been sent from Major Junior to Junior A then to the Bombers. I didn’t know what to expect but I came into a great group of guys and a very supportive coaching staff. My time with Brampton was exactly what I needed for my development. It was where I regained my confidence and rediscovered my love for hockey. I owe a lot to my time spent in Brampton.”

We look forward to where hockey takes Reid next!

Stay tuned for more alumni updates! #takeflight

Let’s check in on some former Bombers alumni! To Let’s check in on some former Bombers alumni! Today we look at one of the best forwards the organization has ever seen, Patrick Del Vecchio!

Del Vecchio stormed onto the scene and made an immediate impact with the Bombers, where he recorded five goals and seven points at the GOJHL Showcase, which included a hat-trick in his first game!

Del Vecchio would be named to the GOJHL Top Prospects game.

He would finish the season with 31 goals and 35 assists for 66 points, good for 16th in the GOJHL and third-highest among under-18 players. He followed that up with three points in four playoff games!

Del Vecchio was awarded the Bombers Rookie of the Year, MVP and Scoring Champion!

Del Vecchio then moved on to our Jr. A affiliate, Brampton Admirals where he put on a show last season placing fifth in league scoring with 74 points. In 104 career OJHL games, he has recorded 98 points.

“My time with the Bombers was great for my development. I was able to have a big role in my rookie year and that increased my confidence on the ice. The guys on the team were great to be around and we had a lot of fun.”

Stay tuned for more alumni updates! #takeflight
